Seattle residents build a square house in the backyard

Backyard House by Thomas Schaer of SHED Architects
Called “Backyard House,” this square Seattle structure is designed by Thomas Schaer of SHED Architects.

Conceived for ultimate livability, it's expanses of glass offer optimum light in the rainy Northwest climate. It's placement on a hill leverages the grand views of downtown Seattle and Elliott Bay.

According to their website, Shed is a full-service architecture and design firm working in custom homes, remodels, commercial interiors and landscapes, furniture and conceptual designs.

Built green certified with environment, community, and when it's not raining the rooftop deck allows the viewer to sit on top of the world.
